Road Tax

This only applies in the UK - but mind out folks elsewhere - it may be coming your way! Our diesel is now $2.40 a LITRE!!! which is around $10.80 a gallon…
The whole system of Road tax, the annual tax we pay which goes towards road maintenance etc, is being changed to charge fuel-efficient cars less, and fuel guzzlers more.
Here is a very handy website which works out what you will pay for each of the next three years.
For Trevor and me it’s “no-change overall”.
My beloved Modus will cost less. His equally beloved (if rather old..) Mercedes will cost more.

Copernicus or Galileo?
What’s Your Approach to Your Business… and Abundance?

Have you ever considered the possibility that how most of us go about trying to create abundance in our businesses and lives precludes us from having the very abundance we desire?
Consider that, thousands of years ago in the days of Aristotle, people ardently believed that the planets and the sun revolved around the earth.
Centuries later, Copernicus and Galileo challenged Aristotle’s view of astronomy and the world. They discovered and introduced the theory that all planets, including earth, actually revolve around the sun. This theory was denounced and Galileo almost burned at the stake because of its revolutionary view.
Today, we know that Copernicus and Galileo were right.
Why did it take so long to find the right answer? Why didn’t other astronomers discover it long before Copernicus and Galileo?
The reason is because their belief that the sun revolved around the earth precluded them from seeing it!
They were looking for the answer through the wrong “lens”, the wrong paradigm. As long as they looked through that lens or paradigm, they would never find the solution.
Let’s apply this to your direct selling business and life.
Why does it take so long for many people to achieve the level of abundance they desire – if ever?
Why do you and/or your associates frequently feel that you don’t have enough money or time or energy?
Why do so many direct sellers regularly experience overwhelm, exhaustion, and excessive busy-ness – even to the point of thinking of them as “honor badges” on the road to success?
If you’re honest with yourself, how often is your “reality” one of scarcity despite your desire for it to be otherwise?
It seems that while we continue to struggle and work hard to end or “fix” what may seem like all-pervasive scarcity, we often make little progress toward its solution. We may succeed in our quest to make more money and wealth – yet remain puzzled as to why we do not experience the abundance and fulfillment we expected.
So – what if we, like the astronomers, are taking the wrong approach?
Could it be that the very “lens” through which we are looking at the problem prevents us from seeing the solution?
Far more than you may realize, scarcity is the “lens” through which most of us look at life, ourselves and our problems – in fact, scarcity is the dominant paradigm of the business world, society and culture. It is this “scarcity lens” that actually prevents us from finding the abundance we seek!
That being said, what if experiencing abundance and success in your business and life requires another approach or “lens” — one as revolutionary as the theory of Copernicus and Galileo centuries ago?
What if we replaced scarcity with abundance as the pre-supposed constant in our lives?
What if, instead of scarcity, you realized that there is actually unlimited abundance available to you?
What if the abundance you need — in any area of your life, including financial — is already available to you?
What if you didn’t have to create it, compete for it, hoard it, fear losing it, or work hard for it? What if all you had to do was to access it and let it flow?
In other words, what if the earth actually revolves around the sun instead of the other way around?
Wallace D. Wattles writes of this in his timeless classic, The Science of Getting Rich, when he states:
“No one is poor because nature is poor or because there is not enough to go around. Nature is an inexhaustible storehouse of riches; the supply will never run short.”
If this is the case, then consider this.
What if accessing abundance instead of fixing scarcity is the approach that will make your business and life – as well as those of your associates – most abundant and fulfilling?
Mr. Wattles goes on to write:
“If you want to be rich, you must not make a study of poverty. Things are not brought into being by thinking about their opposites. Health is never attained by studying disease and thinking about disease; righteousness is not to be promoted by studying sin and thinking about sin; and no one ever got rich by studying poverty and thinking about poverty.”
In other words – you won’t find abundance by looking for it through the “lens” of scarcity!
So - how will you choose to look at the limitations, difficulties and challenges you experience in life today – through the “lens” of scarcity or abundance?
Will you focus on the frustrations, the limitations, the delays and all the ways something is “not enough”? OR Will you focus on the possibilities, the opportunities, and the abundance in all things?
How might it empower you if you were able to experience gratitude for all things you experience – even the challenges, frustrations, difficulties?
What if you were able to see the abundance (and not the scarcity) that is within every moment and every person you meet – including yourself?
If you do, you may discover that many of your “problems“ will disappear or that you will be empowered to respond to them in new ways – ways that support abundance. If, like Copernicus and Galileo, you choose the “revolutionary” approach and look at your business and life through the “lens” of abundance, the possibilities for abundance that lie before you are unlimited!

I first met Flylady a few years ago, when I was stuck in a deep hole of overwhelm and procrastination.
Her message of “first shine your sink” seemed totally irrelevant to the quagmire I was wading through.
But slowly I understood her messages and her empathetic email support started my journey out.
Over the years, she has expanded her message to cover other areas of life (money, exercise) each of which she addresses in a uniquely amusing but realistic fashion.
The site is hugely rich in resources (check out the weekly ideas for pampering yourself!) and is still completely free to use.
An online gem which I thoroughly commend to you all!
